The verified lane.

Garage doors are the most acquired trade in home services and one of only two trades behind Google’s Advanced Verification: a 6-to-8-week gate that re-triggers on every rebrand. We run the verification, the repair-versus-install campaign split, and the per-location LSA line, for every brand and every location on one board.

Why this vertical

The cheapest urgent-trade clicks sit behind Google’s hardest door.

Garage door repair has the cheapest click costs of any urgent home-services trade, and the trade is being consolidated aggressively by private equity. Between the operator and those clicks stands Advanced Verification: documents, a video call, and a website review against content rules most garage door sites fail on the first pass.

That gate is the moat. Agencies fumble it, sites fail it, rebrands re-trigger it. We have taken garage door operators through it, we build sites that pass the review, and for platforms we schedule the filing into the integration plan so an acquired brand never goes dark. The full playbook, the dark-window calculator and the 15-point compliance sweep live on the Verification Desk.

Framed from Google’s published policies and our hands-on verification work. Process expertise, not legal advice.

Campaign architecture

Repair and install are two different businesses.

One is an urgent, same-day, lower-ticket purchase made on a phone in a driveway. The other is a considered, higher-ticket project researched over days. Blended campaigns and blended reports hide each behind the other; we split them from the first day.

Florida note

One state license now. Google checks it.

Florida replaced its patchwork of local garage door licenses with a state-level Certified Specialty Contractor — Garage Door Installation license, administered through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Construction Industry Licensing Board. After HB 735, the local licenses sunset on July 1, 2025.

Google checks applicable state licenses during Advanced Verification, and it checks them against the legal entity that advertises. A Florida brand, or a platform acquiring one, needs the state license in the right entity’s name before the application goes in. We are headquartered in Jacksonville; the license step is in every Florida integration plan we write.

The license

Certified Specialty Contractor — Garage Door Installation

State-level, via DBPR and the CILB. Local garage door licenses phased out July 1, 2025, under HB 735.

The trap

Entity mismatch

The license sits in one LLC, the website and ad account carry another. Verification fails on the mismatch, and the appeal clock is 6 to 8 more weeks.

The fix

Entity first, filing second

License, DBA, site name and ad account all aligned to one legal entity before anything is filed. It is the first page of our readiness review.

Licensing questions belong with your attorney or the licensing board. We handle what Google’s policies require and make the site and the paperwork match.

For platforms

Buying garage door companies? The rebrand is the risk.

Garage doors are one of the most actively acquired trades in home services. Every acquisition that renames a brand re-enters verification. Managed, it is a 0-to-1-week gap. Unmanaged, it is a quarter of lost demand.

Before close

Verification in the deal plan

Entities, licenses, DBAs and the acquired site are prepared before close, and the application is filed the day the rebrand is legal.

  • Site rebuilt to pass the content review pre-rename
  • Video call booked with a briefed owner
At close

No dark weeks

Approval lands around the rebrand date; staged campaigns go live the day it does. The target residual gap is zero to one week.

  • Existing demand captured through the transition
  • LSA re-verification batched per location, 2–4 weeks each
After close

On the board from month one

The acquired brand joins the rollup with its verification state on the row, its CAC by location in the column, and its integration on the 100-day plan.

  • CAC and booked revenue per location, rolled up
  • Verification status for every entity, monthly
The full platform program: per-brand execution, rollup reporting, booked-revenue ROAS and the 100-day integration marketing plan are on the private-equity page. The verification playbook, including the dark-window calculator, is on the Verification Desk.
The program, in practice

What runs per location, once the gate is open.

Verification is the moat; this is the road behind it. Per location, on published per-location pricing.

Paid searchRepair & install split

Campaigns per location, per service line

Repair and install campaigns separated per location, each with its own landing pages, CPL target and budget. Compliant pages from day one: real hours, all-in ranges, verifiable licenses, guarantees with terms on the same page.

Local Services AdsPer location

The Google Verified badge, earned per location

Licenses, insurance and fieldworker background checks per location, run as a repeatable package at 2 to 4 weeks per location, with expiry dates tracked so badges never lapse quietly.

Business Profiles, listings and location pages on one legal-name standard across the system, because in a verified trade, consistency is what keeps ads serving.

Garage door questions

What garage door operators ask, answered in writing.

Google requires garage door advertisers in the United States to pass Advanced Verification before any ad can serve: business and license documents matched to the legal entity, a video call with the documents in hand, and a website review against strict content policies. It typically takes 6 to 8 weeks, and a rejected first pass adds 6 to 8 more on appeal. Until it clears, the brand is off Google Ads entirely.
Yes. A change to the business name, address or license can restart the process. For a platform that buys and renames garage door companies, that means every acquisition risks 6 to 9 weeks off Google Ads in the same quarter the deal model assumes growth, unless verification is filed into the integration plan. We prepare the entity, the licenses and the site before close, and file the day the rebrand is legal, so approval lands around the rebrand date instead of months after it.
Published industry ranges for competitive US markets: repair leads around $40 to $80, installation leads around $110 to $220. The gap is the point: repair is an urgent, high-volume, lower-ticket purchase; install is a considered, higher-ticket one. They need separate campaigns, separate landing pages and separate cost-per-lead targets, and an agency that reports them blended is hiding one behind the other. These are benchmarks, not promises; the audit places your locations against them.
Florida created a state-level Certified Specialty Contractor license for garage door installation, administered through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Construction Industry Licensing Board, after HB 735 phased local garage door licenses out on July 1, 2025. Google checks applicable state licenses during Advanced Verification, so a Florida brand, or a platform buying one, needs the state license in the exact legal entity that will advertise before it applies. We are headquartered in Jacksonville and build this step into every Florida plan.
Yes. Garage door is an LSA category, and verification runs location by location: business and owner checks, licenses and insurance per location, and background checks for every fieldworker, typically 2 to 4 weeks per location when the paperwork is organized. We run LSA and Google Ads natively together, which also matters in 2026 as Google folds Local Services Ads into the main Google Ads platform.
From Google's published policies: rapid-response claims the business cannot guarantee, a site name that differs from the legal name or a registered DBA, unverifiable license or insurance claims, prices without all-in minimum-to-maximum ranges, coupons attached to emergency services, and guarantees that do not link to their terms on the same page. The full 15-point sweep we run on every location page is on the Verification Desk page.
This division is built for three or more locations. Our core team runs garage door marketing for single-location companies on the same craft and lower minimums; start at the core garage door page and come back when you open location three.

The gate is the moat. We hold the key.

Start with the Multi-Location Revenue Audit. In verified trades it includes the readiness review, the filing dates and the site fixes, so verification is a scheduled event instead of a crisis.
