Hospitality marketing in Miami for guests who search in two languages.

Miami-Dade drew 28.3 million visitors in 20251, and its top international markets include Colombia, Brazil and the United Kingdom1. We build the Google Business Profile, Google Ads and direct-booking setup that reaches those guests before they settle on an OTA.

This is a typical Miami pattern, drawn from 2025 GMCVB/STR hotel occupancy of 79.0% in January, 85.5% in February, 80.4% in April and 68.8% in August5, the Miami Art Week spike in early December6 and GMCVB's outlook for a strong fourth quarter7.

Tourism marketing in Miami, built on the rate calendar

Tourism marketing in Miami works when it follows the rate calendar. Greater Miami hotel occupancy was 85.5% in February 2025 and 68.8% that August4, so a Miami hotel, charter or tour operator should spend hardest from late fall through spring and use summer to build reviews, content and email lists. Through August 2026, year-to-date average daily rate reached $261.54, up 12.8%, while occupancy slipped 2.4%3. Rates are rising faster than demand, which makes every direct booking worth more.

Miami tourism is also multilingual. Colombia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico lead the international list1, and international visitors spend more than $1,150 per person per trip1. For a Miami Beach boutique hotel, a Biscayne Bay charter or a Little Havana food tour, that means a Google Business Profile, ads and landing pages in Spanish as well as English, with booking paths that work on a phone from Bogotá or Toronto. Media Spearhead runs this from Jacksonville with research on Miami-Dade, not from a local office.

Who’s coming

Who visits Miami and where they fly in from

Miami's visitor base splits three ways. In 2024 Miami-Dade drew 20.1 million overnight visitors: 10.3 million domestic, 5.1 million international and 4.7 million Florida residents8. New York is by far the largest domestic feeder, with 1.12 million overnight visitors in the first half of 2026, followed by Washington DC, Boston, Chicago and Atlanta7. Internationally, Colombia (203K, up 12.5%), Canada (179K, up 15.0%) and Brazil (169K) led the same period7. Inside Florida, Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete and West Palm Beach send the most residents8. A Miami tourism marketing plan needs different ads, languages and timing for each group.

Miami visitors book on very different clocks. Expedia Group's Q4 2026 indicators for Miami put the average booking window at 77.3 days for UK travelers and 76.7 for Germans, against 34.8 days for Colombians and 35.8 for Mexicans7. Brand USA reports that Spanish travelers choose organized packages (54%) over independent trips (38%), and that OTAs and airlines drive French visitor flow7. For a Miami hotel or tour, European campaigns start early, Latin American campaigns run closer in, and the direct-booking page has to beat the OTA listing on price clarity and trust.

Short-term rentals

Short-term rentals are a large slice of Miami lodging. AirDNA counts 20,014 active listings in the City of Miami, with 61% occupancy and a $263 average daily rate over the 12 months to August 20269, and 1,625 listings in Miami Beach at a $325 ADR10. Florida's SB 280, which would have preempted most local vacation-rental rules, was vetoed in June 2024, so local rules such as Miami Beach's remain in place11. Before a Miami vacation rental spends on ads, we ask the owner to confirm the unit is permitted where it sits, and we write the listing and landing page to match.

How we run it

Four levers, one Miami booking curve.

  1. 01

Local SEO & Google Business Profile

Local SEO for Miami hospitality means ranking in Brickell, Wynwood, Miami Beach and Little Havana searches, not only for "Miami." We build Google Business Profiles with Spanish descriptions, accurate attributes and review replies in the language the guest wrote in.

  2. 02

    Google Ads for tourism

Google Ads for Miami tourism split by audience: English and Spanish campaigns, domestic feeder cities like New York and Boston, and Latin American and Canadian markets on their own timing. Budgets follow the winter and Art Week peaks and pull back in the late-summer trough.

  3. 03

    Direct-booking websites

A Miami direct-booking website has to load fast on a phone, show the real total price and take payment without friction. We build it in English and Spanish so a guest from Bogotá or Mexico City can book without falling back to an OTA.

  4. 04

    Seasonal campaigns & email

Seasonal campaigns in Miami run on three calendars: winter season, the event spikes from the Boat Show to Art Basel, and the Miami Spice months for restaurants. Email to past guests goes out before each window, while rates are still yours to set.

Miami tourism news that changes your marketing

  1. Sep 21, 2026

PortMiami welcomed its 10 millionth cruise passenger of fiscal 2026 on Sept 14, 2026, passing the prior fiscal-year record of 8,564,2257.

So what: Cruise passengers need a pre- or post-cruise night, a transfer, a meal and a half-day tour. Hotels, restaurants and tour operators near Downtown and Brickell should run port-day campaigns and keep Google Business Profile hours accurate on embarkation days.

  2. Sep 2026

August 2026 hotel occupancy fell to 63.6%, down 7.6% from a year earlier after the World Cup, while year-to-date ADR is up 12.8%3.

So what: A soft late summer is the time to reduce OTA dependence: grow the email list, collect reviews and publish Spanish-language content so winter season books direct.

  3. Sep 2026

Canadian overnight visitors to Miami rose 15% in the first half of 2026 while France and Germany weakened, and FLL international arrivals fell 27.3% in June 2026 after Spirit's exit7.

So what: Move international budget toward markets that are growing, such as Canada, Colombia and Mexico, and check which airport your guests use when you write arrival and transfer details.

Local insight

What we’d tell a Miami hospitality owner over coffee.

  • Rate is rising faster than occupancy

Greater Miami's year-to-date ADR reached $261.54 through August 2026 while occupancy dipped to 74.2%3. For Miami hotels and rentals, each booking lost to an OTA now costs more in commission, so the marketing goal shifts from volume to keeping the high-rate guest on your own site.

  • Florida residents are a real market

Florida residents made up 4.7 million of Miami-Dade's overnight visitors in 2024, led by Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete and West Palm Beach8. In-state guests can drive in on short notice, which makes them the right target for Miami summer and shoulder-season campaigns when long-haul travel slows.

  • Luxury pockets price very differently

Year-to-date ADR in the Miami Beach submarket was $340.39 through August 2026, and Surfside/Bal Harbour reached $787.893. A Miami tourism campaign that treats the county as one market wastes money; keywords, ads and landing pages should match the submarket and the guest it attracts.

FAQ

Tourism marketing in Miami, answered.

How much does tourism marketing in Miami cost?

Media Spearhead works month-to-month with no long contract. Google Ads management starts at $400 per month, and your ad spend is paid separately, directly to Google. Google Business Profile management starts at $300 per month per profile. For a Miami hotel, charter or restaurant, we size the plan to the winter peak and scale it down in the late-summer months, so you are not paying for peak-season effort in August.

Should my Miami business advertise in Spanish?

In most cases, yes. Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Spain are all among Miami-Dade's top international markets1. We run separate Spanish campaigns with their own keywords and landing pages instead of machine-translating the English ads, and we reply to Spanish reviews in Spanish. Brazil is also a top market, so we flag when Portuguese pages are worth adding based on your booking data.

When should a Miami hotel start marketing for winter season?

Start in early fall. GMCVB expects Q4 2026 and Q1 2027 to be strong outside of January7, and Expedia Group data shows most international markets peak for Q4 demand from October to December7. European travelers search months ahead, so their campaigns go live first; Latin American campaigns can follow closer in. Email to past winter guests should go out before public rates rise.

How do I get more direct bookings instead of OTA bookings in Miami?

Make the direct path easier than the OTA. That means a fast site with clear total pricing, a booking engine that works on a phone, and Google Ads on your own brand name so an OTA does not take the top spot for your property. The calculator on this page shows what shifting OTA bookings to direct is worth at your rate. With Miami's year-to-date ADR at $261.543, each converted stay counts.

What should a Miami charter or boat rental do around the Boat Show?

The Miami International Boat Show in February puts charters and boat rentals in front of a marine-minded crowd. Start search campaigns before the show, update your Google Business Profile with photos, departure points and hours, and email past guests about spring availability. Keep campaigns running afterward into March, when Calle Ocho, Miami Music Week and spring break fill the city.

How does Art Basel affect hospitality marketing in Miami?

Miami Art Week runs Nov 30 to Dec 6, 2026, with Art Basel Miami Beach on Dec 4 to 6 and more than 20 satellite fairs6. It is a December rate spike for hotels, rentals and restaurants. Build a dedicated landing page in the fall, run ads in English and Spanish to collectors and gallery-goers, and post event-week hours and reservation options on your Google Business Profile.

Are vacation rentals regulated in Miami and Miami Beach?

Yes, at the local level. Florida's SB 280, which would have preempted most local vacation-rental rules, was vetoed in June 2024, so city rules such as Miami Beach's still apply11. Rules differ between the City of Miami, Miami Beach and other municipalities. We ask owners to confirm the unit is permitted before we build ads or a booking site, and we keep listing claims within what local rules allow.

How much do Google reviews matter for Miami restaurants and tours?

A great deal. A visitor choosing between Wynwood food tours or Brickell restaurants usually filters on rating and recent reviews before clicking. We set up a simple post-visit review request, reply to every review in the guest's language, and reuse what guests praise in ad copy and landing pages. We never buy, filter or write reviews; that breaks Google's rules and can get a profile suspended.

How should Miami businesses budget for the slow season?

Plan the year around the occupancy curve. Greater Miami hotel occupancy was 85.5% in February 2025 and 68.8% in August4. Put most paid spend into late fall through spring, keep a smaller always-on campaign in summer, and use restaurant promotions like Miami Spice in August and September. Summer is also the right time to rebuild a website or gather reviews before winter.

Does Media Spearhead have an office in Miami?

No. Media Spearhead is based in Jacksonville and serves Miami tourism and hospitality businesses remotely. We research each market directly, including GMCVB and STR data, the event calendar and local vacation-rental rules, and we work with you over calls, shared dashboards and email. You own your Google Ads account, Google Business Profile and website data from day one, and you can leave any month.
